Using Kodak Plug-in Filters in Photoshop (George Hamma) SPAUG logoPlug-ins are small independent programs which perform functions within the photo editing program (e.g. Photoshop). Hundreds of plug-ins are available, some for free, Many plug-ins provide more levels of adjustment or more sophisticated ways of performing normal image correcting functions such as sharpening or applying smoothing blurs. In the examples shown the original unedited image is shown followed by the result using different techniques for achieving the desired correction. This lecture/demonstration was presented at the October 2005 DISIG meeting

Color Management (Maurice Green) SPAUG logoColor management, or rather, a color-managed digital imaging workflow, is an attempt to achieve that long promised, but often unattained, goal of computer imaging...WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get, pronounced wizzy-wig).This tutorial discusses the color systems and color spaces used in today's modern digital imaging devices and the various methods for calibrating and color profiling each of the devices in order to achieve comparability between them. Presented at DISIG May 2005.

Using Layers in Photoshop (Maurice Green) SPAUG logoLayers are often considered the primary reason for using a digital editing like Photoshop. They provide the flexibility to edit the picture and combine effects without affecting the underlying image. This series of lectures in January and March 2005 covered adjustment layers, layer sets and comps, layer blending, and layer styles.

KAP: Kite Aerial Photography (Bruce Owen) SPAUG logoKite Aerial Photography (KAP) is a fun, inexpensive, and highly portable way to get striking vertical and oblique aerial views of landscapes, buildings, and archaeological sites. The equipment can be built around digital cameras for use in any location with a good breeze. Presented at DISIG April 2006)
