Building Content for Your Drupal Website: Content Types, CCK and Views
Maurice Green, SVUGA Webmaster
Drupal comes with several content types (story, page and blog) as part of core. Contributed modules can provide additional types such as book, classified ad and event. For those who require more specialized content forms there is the Content Creation Kit (CCK) which allows the webmaster to build new types from a variety of field types. Up through Drupal 6.x, CCK was a contributed module. With the upcoming Drupal 7 it will be included in core as Fields. Finally, to customize the presentation of these various content types there is the Views module which creates customized SQL queries to the database to present the information in a variety of displays.
Various Windows Applications and Tools for Optimizing and Managing your PC
Kevin Lynn, SVCS Windows Software SIG Leader
Spring Cleaning is overdue, now that Summer is three weeks old. Kevin will demonstrate his favorite utilities for cleanup, checkup, consolidation and backup.
As usual there will be a general question and answer session.
This is the night you have been waiting for; the chance to present your latest accomplishments to the assembled group. Feel free to bring along the latest hardware you have built and show off your handiwork to the crowd. Or just bring pictures of your hardware (on a USB flash drive) and describe it to us.
Have a problem or a question? Present the conundrum to the group and test the collective intelligence (?) of the gurus. If it's about computer hardware, this is the place to be.
What Hank Will Talk About
Hank Skawinski, Owner/Manager, Datawise
Yes, that topic is flippant, but it's also true, because regardless of what's up there, Hank will talk about what Hank will talk about - knowledgably and in detail. It's likely to be about the latest things he's learned, and be based on his day-to-day experience dealing with the problems of maintaining, building, and using computers and related devices. He'll likely have something to say about Microsoft, about Linux, about some new product that's grabbed his fancy, and about something that's peeved him that shouldn't have.

Maury will demonstrate the process for performing security updates on a Drupal 6 installation, including the system module and various contributed modules.
